Corporate Relationships

Corporate Relationships

The  man  owns  a  company,  two  buildings  and  a  board  member  of  a  secondary  school.  The woman  is  on  three  boards,  Chief  Executive  Officer  of  sorts  and  has  a  farm.

The entire world believes they are successful and happy. So I decide to sneak into one of the homes and these are the programs.

Monday – Friday they wake up at different times, served by the house helper and greeted by the dog (okay for the man’s case), busy all day but meanwhile they use phones but too busy  to think about each other.
Attend several meetings, head to the bar and go home. Again greeted by the dog and the servant and in many of these cases, the servant knows more about their master like, “on Wednesday he/she goes to the gym, the shoes-clanks and shirt.”  Who is meant to draw the line on the corporate world, which is meant to draw the line on the chase for money?   I have no answer that is why I am writing.

Worrying Unemployment Levels

LEVELS OF UNEMPLOYMENT VERY WORRYING
Things are not the same anymore. Jobs found students before graduation but today the country's ability to create jobs equal to the ever expanding labor-force is limited. This is due to local and international factors. According to statistics from the ministry of labor, Uganda has a labor force of slightly above 13 million people, with 6 million fully employed while 7 million are either underemployed or unemployed. Among the employed, 300,000 work in public service and about 5.7 are employed in the private sector.
Statistics from Uganda Bureau Of Statistics (UBOS) indicate that of the over 400,000 Ugandans that enter the job market annually, only 113,000 are absorbed in the formal sector, leaving the rest searching for jobs in the informal sector. National unemployment stands at 3.5%, unemployment among the youths (18-30 yrs.) stands at 32.2 per cent while unemployment among the degree holders is at 36%.
Experts assert that unemployment is due to low levels of investment, creativity and innovation.
With a big percentage of the investments being by foreigners means, their withdraw from the industry would live hundreds of youths jobless. Experts say the solution is encouraging investments by creating a conducive business climate and imparting vocational knowledge  to equip university students with skills necessary for job creation.

Smart Phone Addictions

SMARTPHONE ADDICTION

Something caught my attention and it is to do with smart phones. Have you ever wondered how

much time it is given? When you wake up  (actually it is the smart phone alarm that wakes you),

in  class,  during  meals  and  when  you  are  having  a  real  conversation  with  your  friends.
Did  it shock you when your parents were talking your eyes were down, on your way to campus, if you attended  any  meetings?  Has  the  social  media  overwhelmed  us?  When  was  the  last  time  you looked at your best friend and realized his head had enlarged.

Well, worry not; I came up with a solution. Try to put away your phone twice a week and then
you will realize how much you will take note of like the boring lecturer may have a point, the
environment and the girl with the awkward hair do, the lawns.  Of course you will feel pain in
your heart like you are leaving behind a lot (yes tats the collateral damage of letting your phone
go) but just try it.
Thanks  and  regards  to  your  best  friend  or  even  partner  once  they  appreciate  the  time  and attention that you are showing them.
